CAN'T GO WRONG WITH WONG :)

👩🏻‍💻 Hi, I’m Kimberly (Kimi for short)! I’m a thoughtful and enthusiastic problem-solver dedicated to leveraging technology for social good. I’m especially passionate about designing engaging, accessible, and user-centered solutions for the public sector and community-driven organizations.

🎓 I recently graduated from UC San Diego, where I studied Human-Computer Interaction and Design within the Cognitive Science major and earned a Business minor. I’m well-versed in all things design, but focus on UI/UX, user research, and data visualization. In short: I thrive wherever creativity, data, and human connection come together!

💡 With 3+ years of UX experience in government, education, and nonprofit environments, I learned firsthand the importance of understanding the people who use the systems we design. I believe "If design ignores people, people ignore design." By prioritizing user insights and tailoring technology to meet their needs, we can achieve meaningful outcomes that enhance the user experience and even improve overall quality of life.

🎨 Outside of work, I recharge through a variety of creative hobbies. I’m often starting new calligraphy projects, styling unique thrifted outfits, playing indie games, or DJing dance venues around San Diego. Embracing creativity helps me bring curiosity, perspective, and a zest for life into all I do — and I believe it helps me become a more thoughtful designer every day.

A FEW WAYS I LOVE TO EXPRESS MYSELF...

I connect songs to connect to an audience.

I'm a huge advocate for diversity in the music scene. As president of the DJ club at UCSD (the 3rd woman to have done so since the club's establishment in 1997), I helped throw the very first all-women DJ event with over 100 attendees showing up to hear eight women play their favorite music.

I'm strongly of the mind that music brings people together, and find that DJing as a creative outlet is a fun way to think critically about how to read a crowd, adapt and improvise accordingly, and technically mix in a way that can make people smile, laugh, and enjoy themselves in the moment. My favorite genres are house, garage, techno, and future funk. I'm always happy to recommend what I've been loving to listen to! Here's one track I love that's been on repeat:
